Organic Reach Dreams
Organic Reach Dreams lyrics
A song about briefs that say “go viral” with zero budget for ads
Lyrics
Every brief says, "Go be found"
While the whole world scrolls on by
You posted once, then twice, then ten
Still the silence don’t reply
Founders, freelancers, brand new brands
All with fire in their hands
Trying to bloom on borrowed ground
In a feed that barely lands
You want a name they know
Without begging for the view
You want the door to swing
Like the lucky ones it do
But luck is not a plan
And panic burns the room
So you keep shaping truth
Till it finds its way through
Organic reach
That’s the dream (organic reach)
Everywhere seen
But not for free (organic reach)
Google, ChatGPT
Perplexity, too
Everybody wants the wave
Few get proof
You watched the numbers climb and fall
Like weather on a phone
A thousand tabs, a hundred tools
Still you feel alone
One thread breaks, one post takes off
Then it fades by afternoon
So you learn to build a spine
Not just chase a moon
You want a name they know
Without begging for the view
You want the door to swing
Like the lucky ones it do
But luck is not a plan
And panic burns the room
So you keep shaping truth
Till it finds its way through
Organic reach
That’s the dream (organic reach)
Everywhere seen
But not for free (organic reach)
Google, ChatGPT
Perplexity, too
Everybody wants the wave
Few get proof
Maybe reach is not a crown
Maybe trust is how it starts
One real voice, one clear promise
One good answer, one sharp heart
If they come, let them come
For what you actually do
Not the mask, not the chase
But the work that carries through
Organic reach
That’s the dream (organic reach)
Everywhere seen
But not for free (organic reach)
Google, ChatGPT
Perplexity, too
Everybody wants the wave
Few get proof
Behind the Lyrics
I've been building organic growth strategies at 4 Pillars Digital long enough to have had the same conversation about forty times: "Why aren't we ranking yet?" Every time, I give the measured answer. It takes time. We're building authority. The content compounds. And every time, silently, I'm begging the organic reach gods to deliver before the contract runs out and my imposter syndrome kicks in. That second part is why this is techno. You go to a techno club to disappear: dark, anonymous, nobody checking domain authority on the dance floor (I'd be impressed if someone did). And here I am writing a song about wanting to be found everywhere, Google, ChatGPT, Perplexity, in the genre that exists to make you nobody. The irony is deliberate. The pain in the song is specific. You're doing everything right. The strategy is sound. You have spreadsheets to prove it. And still the client calls, the boss asks, the benchmark moves. Organic marketing is a long game played under short-term pressure, and nobody wins that gap on a weekly basis. Some weeks the best you can do is put on something with a steady kick drum and keep building.
